St. Louis Christian Academy is producing college bound players year in and year out. A couple recent alum are Jordan Nesbitt (Memphis) and Jaden Jones (Rutgers). The SLCA squad participates in The Grind Session – a national prep team circuit. This year’s SLCA squad is again deep with talent. Here are 4 players making an impact early on.
Zek Montgomery | St. Louis Christian | Small Forward | Class of 2021
Montgomery is a complete wing. A solid athlete at 6’6, he does it all for this year’s team. He has a solid shot from 3 and the mid range. Montgomery sees the floor well and plays unselfishly. On the boards he has a nose for the ball and plays with a motor to get every rebound. Montgomery is one of the best unsigned seniors in the Midwest and would fit well in most programs. He’s the definition of a plug and play wing.
Sultan Adewale | St. Louis Christian | Hybrid Post | Class of 2023
A hidden gem but not for much longer. Adewale is a 6’8 forward who has come to St. Louis from Great Britain. He has very long arms, and is a fluid athlete for his size and age. His mobility and coordination could allow him to become a wing in time. He plays extremely hard and this shows with his desire to get rebound and block shots for SLCA. Around the rim he finishes very well and glides showcasing his athleticism. Adewale is one of the highest potential prospects in the Midwest and schools such as Illinois, Missouri, and Purdue have taken notice.
Aahmod Scarbrough | St. Louis Christian | Combo Guard | Class of 2022
Scarbrough decided to reclassify into 2022 when attending St. Louis Christian. He has the tools to become a very good guard. Aahmod is 6’3 with a strong base and explosive ability. The lefty has gotten better all summer and will have the chance to be a leader for a national program with Jordan Nesbitt moving onto the college ranks. On the defensive end, Scarbrough really excels. He is a vocal leader and is stout on ball. Overall, a very well-rounded guard prospect who we think has a ton of potential.
Jayden Nicholson | St. Louis Christian | Shooting Guard | Class of 2023
Nicholson is a physical guard who can get hot from deep at any time. He scores in bunches utilizing his jump shot and strong finishing ability on the left side of the floor. It is easy to see how much talent Nicholson possesses and he is learning how to play for a talented team. He is a great scorer with some explosive ability and will continue to progress this summer on the Nike EYBL circuit where Mokan and Brad Beal Elite are competing for his services.
