Pattonville Guards key to success

Pattonville is off to a 15-1 start behind coach Kelly Thames. Their offense has been performing at a high level and much of this is due to two guards. We will take a look at them and give some insight into their game.

Kellen Thames | Pattonville | Class of 2022 | Combo Guard

Thames is a 6’5 combo guard that fills up the stat sheet. He scores from all 3 levels displaying a good jump shot off the bounce and using his length to finish around the rim. Thames also averages over 6 assists per game so there is great potential for him to be a bigger point guard at the collegiate level. Speaking of the next level, college coaches are starting to take notice of the quickly rising junior. Georgetown and Saint Louis have been impressed with his play leading to scholarship offers. Thames is one of the elite 2022 prospects in the state.

Alijah Carter | Pattonville | Class of 2021 | Guard

Carter is an attacking minded, downhill guard. Averaging over 17 point per game, Carter is a slasher who uses creativity and good jumping ability off two feet to get easy buckets in the lane. In transition he looks comfortable and excels. On top of this, he gets 8 rebounds per night and will do whatever it takes to win. Carter should see his recruitment pick up soon as well-rounded guards with athleticism are far and few between.
